I am a student, an artist and an educator who strives, by example, to inspire those whom I serve in communities near and far to find their unique voice in movement & expression. I provided dance programs fueled by support, love & encouragement in order to uplift, grow & empower individuals to pave their own avenues of creative declaration.

KRISTIN SANTIAGO is a multifaceted human, multidisciplinary dance educator and choreographer currently living in the DC, Maryland and Virginia metropolitan area. She gained experience teaching and dancing in local teams and studios both in the community and when she lived in Los Angeles, California. With the mission statement of always being a student; Kristin has paved her way these years by being a dancer, choreographer and artist while dancing with artists such as Jody Watley, Ana Vee and Ruby Ibarra. She is constantly adapting and creating avenues for her community as she strives to continue to share knowledge in all she learns through her journey.

Kristin draws her style from the idea of poetry and story-telling. Focusing on individual creative choices, training in foundational movement and freestyle, Kristin believes it starts with the heart in dance. Training under a non-profit organization, Culture Shock in both the DC and LA chapters- she has explored different sides of her craft and continues to find ways to amplify her creative voice in dance. Teaching all levels of dance in both Whacking and open style choreography influenced with Hip Hop, she has taught in popular studios such as Millennium Dance Complex, Movement Lifestyle, Quest Dance Studio, Offstage and the Kinjaz Dojo.

Kristin will continue to share and grow with her community through dance in all ways possible, opening avenues to more creatives in the world and connect everyone in every step of the way through her classes, programs and freestyle connections.

Student Testimonials

  • Greatest thing I learned from Kristin is the importance of living my truth. Truly listening to my authentic self and becoming in tune with the things that serve me was something she was able to teach us through dance. Regularly pushing myself out of a comfort zone during freestyles while being welcomed in a safe space let me helped me sort myself out as a closed off grown adult.

  • Kristin is a ball of energy who radiates positivity, uplifting everyone in class. She creates a welcoming and supportive environment in her waacking classes, making sure all dancers—regardless of their skill level—feel comfortable and encouraged to give their best. Her freestyle is always a source of inspiration, I experience all kinds of emotions just by watching her!!!

  • Kristin knows her craft, the history behind what she teaches, and understanding how to communicate what she wants the student to take away from taking her class. She takes the time with each individual student and caters to them on what they’d like to learn and also help them grow as an individual dancer, artist, and person, as well as developing a community like feeling with each class with multiple students - it makes the class experience much more enjoyable.
